Our mission is to strengthen the conservation, research, and study of Fungi in Central Texas
We are a member-supported, volunteer-run group of united Central Texans dedicated to working with fungi. Fungi are foundational species for nearly all terrestrial life—critical links between the health of soil, plants, and fresh water. The Central Texas Mycological Society bridges science and art through multidisciplinary public programs, exhibitions, and community science, using fungal intelligence as a creative and ecological ally to restore resilience in the natural world.
SporeCorps is our indoor cultivation and community lab program — a hands-on space for curious minds to explore the science, art, and discipline of growing fungi. SporeCorps teaches indoor STEM methods in a supportive, futuristic, DIY-lab environment. Join us both online and in-person in classes in Austin and San Antonio.
