AUSTIN: UV Night Walk at McKinney Falls State Park
The event is SOLD OUT!!! We have a limited amount of tickets and they have been claimed. We will be doing check-in and if you did not register with Central Texas Mycology, you can enjoy the park on your own. We have limited amount of supplies for a specific number of people. Additionally, with this being a night walk, we don't want to create safety issues with a large group.

Join us for a UV night walk to explore the park to look for glowing birds, night pollinators, glowing plants, fungus, lichens and more. We will start during daylight and continue to explore after dark. Learn the basics of bird watching and helpful tips on how to identify birds by sight and sound with Master Naturalist Andrea and learn about why some organism glow in the dark under black lights from Angel. Get creative with glowing outfits.
Bring your own UV flashlight. You can also purchase a UV flashlight for $20 or $69 (brighter) from us and pick-up at the park.
Meet: Visitor Center
Bring: Binoculars, a UV flashlight, water, close-toed shoes. Limited binocular supplies provided by the park.
Difficulty: Easy activity level, some uneven terrain, approximately 1-mile hike.
*Parents must accompany all minors.
We will also have mushroom blocks for everyone to take home.
Bring your own 365nm UV flashlight or purchase one from us and pick-up at the event.
